This is fixed in Ubuntu 13.04, and probably long before: System Settings
> "Details" > "Preferred Applications" > "Web" no longer lists any
"Sensible Browser".
** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
Status: Invalid => Fix Released

Title:
Preferred Applications offers non-existent "Ubuntu Sensible Browser"
Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
In the Preferred Applications window, the "Web Browser" menu offers me
"Opera", "Epiphany", "Firefox", and "Konqueror" options. These make
sense, because I have those browsers installed.
But it also offers me an option labelled "Ubuntu Sensible Browser".
This makes no sense, because I don't have any program with that name
installed, and nor can I find any browser with this name in Synaptic
or Add/Remove Programs.
