Title:
HP Pavilion g6 no sound from speakers only headphones

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Sound plays from the headphones with no issue. When removing the
headphones there is no sound from the front speakers. However if I use
pavucontrol and look the bar to indicate sound is moving. i have tried
changing my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf with different option
strings like hp-hdx and ref and auto with no change. I have tried
removing pulse and just running alsa and have gotten the newest dkms
package for alsa. I have also enabled proposed and backports in my
sources. This laptop does have HDMI as well and it looks as though the
  2 are "connected"?
