I have the same symptoms on my MacBook6,1 after upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04. Before that I was running 12.04 and suspend worked fine.
Additionally I can add: when manually suspending (by running pm-suspend, for example) the screen goes blank, but the white case LED does not start "breathing", like it would when suspended. Pressing any keys does not bring back the screen. However, if I then close the lid, the white case LED turns off. *then* if I open the lid, the LED turns on, and I think the machine suspends (it's difficult to tell, because the screen is blank in both situations). It seems this is the opposite way around to normal. I was wondering if perhaps some "is the case closed?" boolean has its condition inverted, perhaps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1184186 Title: Macbook running Ubuntu 13.04 stop working when suspended Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am using Ubuntu 13.04 in macbook retina and everytime I suspend (or suspend closing) the notebook its screen stays completely black and I can heard the sound that it is still working, it does not suspend and it does not return from this state. I tried to click on all keyboard keys and some combinations as well as using the touchpad. Anyway, it really does not work after being suspended. It continues on (does not really suspend) and does not work so that I have to hold the turn off button and turn it on again. I think this is a main issue, and probably others are having the same problem (maybe not just with macs).
