It a project bug then! The status bar is a nice feature and very simple to program and maintain. At the very least, why not leave it disabled by default and give the user the option to enable it? It was replaced by a "floating" status bar that annoyingly appears over file names and never shows the device's free space. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159440 Title: Nautilus not showing status bar by default Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: In 13.04, Nautilus is not showing the status bar on the bottom when entering a folder with many items on it. It only shows the status bar when I select the items in it, but not by default when I go inside a folder. It should, like in the past, tell me how many items are shown (Folder and files) and how much free space is left. There is no option to activate this via gui either.
