Is this valid? In any case it's up to firefox packagers to provide
.desktop files that have different StartupWMClass values for different
window classes, or there's no other way to check which version is
currently used.

Title:
  Unity confuses different Firefox builds

Status in BAMF Application Matching Framework:
  Invalid
Status in Unity:
  Won't Fix
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
If I have different Firefox builds (for example Aurora and a custom Nightly
build) and I run both of them, Unity shows only a single icon in the launcher
(and all the windows of the two builds are linked to that icon).
This is really confusing and makes working on Firefox really difficult.
