  Gimp 2.8 crashed in Ubuntu when using gradients

Bug description:
  Hello.

  when using Gimp 2.8.4-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 13.04, and when trying to change the 
gradients with Glossy effects, Gimp is crashing.
  here is what i got in the terminal:

  08344e0e664864cc2ede53d-le32d4.cache-3gimp: terminated: Aborted
  /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/script-fu: fatal error: GIMP crashed

  (script-fu:7724): LibGimp-WARNING **: script-fu: gimp_flush(): error:
  Broken pipe

  this bug is fixed in the upstream:
  https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=696240
  but it is not fixed in Ubuntu until now.
  any help?
