Title:
[Intrepid] Upgrade to intrepid presents user with CUPS config file
diff
Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: cups
Just did a dist-upgrade to Intrepid beta. I'd modified the CUPS config via
the printing config application but the upgrade still presented me with a diff
of the config file with the new one and asked me what to do. For a
non-technical user that is just not acceptable since a non technical user:
- has no idea what CUPS is
- has no idea what the config file is/does
- has no idea how to interpret the file
- has no way to know that the printing setup application has modified it on
their behalf
- has no idea whether the config file format has changed and so the old one
cannot be kept
- ultimately has no idea whether to keep it or not.
I'd expect any changes that I'd made via the printing manager
application to be automatically carried over.
