Title:
failed to report crash using apport: failed to report crash
using apport: OSError(13, 'Permission denied')
Status in “apport” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: apport
Is it possible that apport only works when a crash occurs while using as root.
I've been using natty for almost 8 wks. and have never had a crash call
apport except once, and then only if I specifically caused it as root.
Ex. (using bzr
as user
bzr get https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/unity/ubuntu
bzr: failed to report crash using apport: OSError(13, 'Permission denied')
ect. ect.
*** Bazaar has encountered an internal error. This probably indicates a
bug in Bazaar. You can help us fix it by filing a bug report at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+filebug
including this traceback and a description of the problem.
Then as root
sudo bzr get https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/unity/ubuntu
bzr: ERROR:
blah blah
You can report this problem to Bazaar's developers by running
apport-bug /var/crash/bzr.0.2010-12-31T23:11.crash
if a bug-reporting window does not automatically appear.
