Bug description:
opening bug from bug #772986
bug still open at precise 12.04.1 fresh install.
to reproduce:
1) from google chrome, right click on gmail app and create shortcut on the
desktop plus applications menu.
2) test gmail shortcut dragging from applications menu to the launcher
3) enought testing gmail from launcher. remove gmail from launcher by right
clicking it.
4) from dash, type gmail, drag icon and drop inside the trash icon.
5) blank icon remains at the same place gmail icon was.
