Just for the record: This bug still exists in my fully updated Ubuntu
12.04 (i686). Using newer external sources would probably help, but
currently I don't want to destabilize my working system with external
packages.

  libreoffice writer: docx document loads forever (regression)

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  The attached docx document can not be opened by libreoffice. It loads
  forever and uses 100% cpu. The application has to be killed. Writer
  version 3.5.7.2. Several documents are affected.

  The same document opens fine in Writer version 3.5.4.2 (Debian
  Testing).
