Bug exists with Thunar in 13.04 64-bit up-to-date Xubuntu. The bug likely also crashes libreoffice (3.x and 4.x) when it wants to save a file that you opened on the samba share. Workaround for that: save on the local drive and copy to the share afterwards. That may not work, but at least you'll have your document.
NB mount workaround will be a problem if you do not have root privileges. Then try FTP, or if you have dual boot save to a place where Windows can access your data.
