Jockey has been superseded by software-properties, which now handles third-party driver configuration.

Jockey runs upon login and leaves the backend running. If you run apt-get update right afterward, the backend isn't refreshed to have this updated information. Consequently, running 'jockey-text -l' potentially thinks that no drivers are available, when this isn't necessarily the case. I propose that when a frontend queries the backend for supported drivers, the backend should refresh it's view of the apt cache so that this is accurate information.
