Title:
jockey-backend crashed because of timeout in b43-fwcutter
Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: jockey-common
Hello.
My problem started with "hardware drivers" crashing when trying to
install B43 drivers for Broadcom 4318. After extensively looking into
issues here in launchpad I didn't find any specific answer to my
issue. But after some time I started looking into the b43-fwcutter
itself and it seems that it failed with the following.
-2009-03-30 19:21:57--
http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o
Resolving downloads.openwrt.org... 195.56.146.238

dpkg: error processing b43-fwcutter (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
b43-fwcutter
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
And currently when I open up openwrt.org they are down. After opening
the cache of openwrt.org in google I saw that they are currently
undergoing some upgrades that seem to have taken the site down and I
cannot manually access the file that b43-fwcutter is trying to
download.
Anyway the issue here seems to be that jockey-common crashes instead
of giving sufficient feedback that b43-fwcutter failed to finish with
the timeout while accessing openwrt.org.
Please let me know if you need any further information from me
regarding this issue.
