Starting with version 28 in the distros, chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra is
preferred over chromium-codecs-ffmpeg. If you have Chromium installed
already, or you have chromium-codecs-ffmpeg installed, you'll need to
manually install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra. If you are installing
Chromium for the first time, you won't need to do anything.

Title:
Pandora.com does not work without chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra
  installed

Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Only chromium-codecs-ffmpeg is installed by default. But Pandora.com
does not work without the -extra version of this package installed in
its place. Instead, the service fails without any helpful error
  message.

Pandora.com is a popular music streaming service that ideally should
work by default with all browsers.
