I have installed the laest 3.11 kernel (3.11.0-999-generic #201307150405 SMP Mon Jul 15 08:06:42 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) and so far there were no connection drops. However i see these errors in syslog when the connection "freezes or stalls" for a while (no idea if it's related or not, just thought it might be worth to check):
