  software-center crashed with signal 5 in _XReadEvents()

Bug description:
  I just opened the Software Centre from the HUD, it started up and
  showed the main window. After about 2 seconds the window dimmed, then
  the app window vanished without me doing anything.

  I am using the 13.10 development build.
