Gnome-panel has been crashing with some frequency as of late, typically for what seems like no reason at all. What happens is that sometimes some of the icons disappear (but their tooltips will continue to appear), and other times they are still there but shifted (though the tooltips will appear in their previous locations). Very strange. Sometimes gnome-panel will lock up entirely, and when I click on it, nothing happens (such as clicking on a workspace in the switcher in order to get to another workspace). In those cases, I have to 'pkill -HUP gnome-panel' myself, but sometimes it will actually crash on its own. I got this bug report from one of those times that it crashed on its own. I've been actually trying to get the same functionality from screenlets and AWN, because the panel has been crashing so frequently that it's almost unusable for daily tasks. Please let me know how I can help, or what other information I can provide. Thanks. --JoeLinux ProblemType: Crash Architecture: i386 CrashCounter: 1 Date: Tue Feb 26 10:56:35 2008 Disassembly: 0xb77daf0e: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-panel NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: gnome-panel 1:2.21.91-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdline: gnome-panel --sm-client-id 117f000101000120403089900000060940000 --screen 0 ProcEnviron: PATH=/home/username/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash Signal: 11 SourcePackage: gnome-panel Stacktrace: #0 0xb77daf0e in ??
