Title:
Can't change download location to certain directories, location
  becomes ~.

Status in “transmission” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Using transmission-gtk 2.51 in Ubuntu 12.04.

Whenever I click Preferences --> Downloads, and then the field next to
'Download Location', I can't select it to be
/mnt/Data/Torrentdownloads: the download location will be changed to
~. Strangely enough, I can change it to /mnt/Data. Browsing to
/mnt/Data/Torrentdownloads via 'Other Location' doesn't work either.
