Can you test using the current version of Chromium? You may need to use
the --kiosk switch to start fullscreen.

Title:
  chromium/chrome starts in incomplete fullscreen

Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: chromium-browser

  I recently did a dist-upgrade from a stable 10.10 to the development
  version of 10.04.

  what i expect so see:
I start chrome/chromium and it goes to fullscreen immediately.

  what happens:
after start it goes into an incomplete fullscreen with part of the desktop
still visible on the top between former title bar and former upper gnome-panel.
this happens on both google-chome and chromium see attached screenshot for
better description.

  workaround:
click the visible desktop area or the panel and the window goes to complete
fullscreen as supposed to.
