This bug does also affects me. However I uninstalled pidgin-skype and
installed the newest deb from this website: http://eion.robbmob.com/
(Version 13 Jan '13) and now Pidigin works fine and have good Skype
support.

Bug description:
  I had install pidgin-skype and I try to connect without have package
  skype (I didn't know that it need it). So pidgin crash.

  P.S. Package skype have been removed since I run disk-upgrade. And I
  am not able to reinstall it because dependencies are not satisfied.
