** Description changed: Hello, my system takes a rather long time to shutdown (~7-10 sec.) while there are often error messages flashing on the screen like: - Killing all remaining processes failed - Mount: / is busy To investigate the problem, I patched my /etc/init.d/umountfs and umountroot scripts with the proposed changes from https://code.launchpad.net/~jamesodhunt/ubuntu/saucy/sysvinit/log- processes-and-open-files-on-shutdown/+merge/163740 to log open files at shutdown and attached the resulting shutdown-lsof.log here.
