I have no problem installing gparted, pinning it to the Launcher, or
running it from the Launcher. This bug as described is clearly fixed in
current Unity.

It is bad enough that there is no usable menu in unity but if we have
to be illiterates and use icons at least we should be able to pick the
ones on the launch bar.
