The problem did not occur in releases prior to raring (just checked 12.10 from a live-usb and there is only one monitor output). Raring is special: When running unity I didn't noticed the bug because the second imaginary monitor is disabled by default (but still present in the system settings). However on Kubuntu 13.04 this second monitor output is on by default. On Saucy I get this second screen additionaly in lightdm (which was not the case in raring) which means I can move the mouse cursor over the right edge of the screen.

I can however disable the imaginary second one in the system settings and then everything is fine. Checking out 13.04 the system settings also show a second screen but it is disabled by default. --- ApportVersion: 2.12-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: j 1757 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: j 1757 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: j 1757 F...m pulseaudio CurrentDmesg: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=e11d89d9-55a5-4b2d-9420-9d79b2b1fa30 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-08-12 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Alpha amd64 (20130811) Lsusb: Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp.
