Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * When running activity-log-manager from terminal, the application
  crashed. LP: #1058037 and LP: #1050620

   * Fixes a critical bug which at times made this application unusable

   * The fix corrects the usage of GtkApplication for starting the UI
  (caused by the wrong usage)

   * The new version 0.9.6 contains the fix and is uploaded to saucy

  [Test Case]

   * Start the application from terminal 0.9.4-0ubuntu3

  [Regression Potential]

   * No regression found till now for this fix.  Upstream 0.9.5 and 0.9.6 
      have been release with the fix

   * The patch is well tested and has not yet created any other issue.
