This bug affects me on 13.04, 2 years after the last comment in this
thread! Does anyone know if it was fixed in the meantime?

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: indicator-applet

  When I receive a new e-mail I get the notification bubble but
  indicator-applet doesn't change the icon like it should, it also shows
  in the list that I have 0 messages on all my e-mail accounts.
