Title: Software center shows stale information about PPA packages Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: software-center I have a ppa (ppa:linaro-infrastructure/launch-control-snapshots) that had (at the time of the incident) four packages, one of them being python-django-testscenarios. I launched software-center to inspect that PPA and found that only three (other) packages were listed. After talking with mvo (Michael Vogt) we managed to pinpoint the problem to a "stale cache". Some notes from the conversation: * running sudo /usr/share/software-center/update-software-center DID NOT not make the cache valid * running sudo update-apt-xapian-index DID make the cache valid * the package in question was previously installed from a locally built .deb file (version: 0.1-1) and then upgraded to a version built from a launchpad recipe into the PPA (version: 0.1+2-0ubuntu1~maverick1) * apt-cache policy reports only one version in the version table (0.1+2-0ubuntu1~maverick1, the one from the PPA) * /var/lib/apt/lists/ppa.launchpad.net_linaro-infrastructure_launch-control-snapshots_ubuntu_dists_maverick_main_binary-amd64_Packages at the time of the incident DID contain all four packages Please post questions if necessary.
