I have just tested the lastet version of the 3.2 kernel and Nouveau is working properly again, so at least for me this problem is fixed.

The unfortunate consequence is that the screen resolution is limited to 1024x768. The last kernel version where the Nouveau driver works is 3.2.0-38 . If I run 3.2.0-39, 3.2.0-40 or the Quantal kernel 3.5.x, the Nouveau kernel modules are obviously not loaded during boot (the output of 'lsmod | grep nouveau' is empty). If I inspect the log files like /var/log/kern.log or /var/log/dmesg, I can't find any reference to the Nouveau driver and no possible hints why it wasn't loaded.
