Title: Searching for tex or latex doesn't show TeX Live Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: software-center Many LaTeX users do not know that they need the install the TeX Live distribution in order to use LaTeX. Searching for "latex" or "tex" in the software center (of Ubuntu 10.10) only lists text editors and (La)TeX IDEs. To install the TeX itself one has to search for "tex live".
