That is the correct behaviour. Previous versions ignored the error, and produced the incorrect output.

Unrecoverable error: stackunderflow in .setdistillerparams Adding -dUseCIEColor to the command line seems to fix the problem, however this should not be and might be a symptom of a bug in the code where variables that used to be initialized in previous version are no longer.
