I have similar on a Lenovo T430 2347G5M with intel i915 (Intel 7 Series/C210) using the LCD panel, and 2 external monitors (1 DVI, 1 DP)
The laptop is not being suspended, it remains powered on all day. I lock with Ctrl-Alt-L and then when I move the mouse to log in, there is a 5-10 second delay before one of the displays shows the background, then 30-60 seconds before the password dialog appears. 12.04.3 LTS gnome-screensaver 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 3.9.1-030901-generic (same issue down through many kernels 3.0 and even 2.6 Changing screen brightness does not do anything.
