I'm using several different phones with different plans to connect to
the internet, so this problem is particularly prominent to me.
Once a new modem has been set up, it shows like this:
modem name
status (connected/disconnected)
___________
network name
If the modem is not connected to the computer it still shows the four
lines only with name and status greyed out. In my opinion non-connected
devices should not be shown entirely, their respective network hidden.
There is no possible interaction at all and doesn't give network
information.
