Public bug reported: with a running gnome-shell 3.10 session, i upgraded to the latest 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6.1 xorg-server packages. then noticed that gnome-shell would periodically freeze up for almost a minute at a time.
downgrading those packages to 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 seems to have fixed the issue, even without restarting gnome-shell $ dpkg -l |grep 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 ii xserver-common 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 all common files used by various X servers ii xserver-xephyr 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 amd64 nested X server ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 amd64 Xorg X server -
