Trying to install steam breaks apt-get update
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I used the software center to install steam. I run 12.10 on x86-64
platform, and it appeared to attempt to install the steam64 binary as
expected. However, the install failed. Ever since, "apt-get update"
has failed with two warnings:
W: Failed to fetch https://private-ppa.launchpad.net/commercial-ppa-
uploaders/steam64/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-amd64/Packages The
requested URL returned error: 403
W: Failed to fetch https://private-ppa.launchpad.net/commercial-ppa-
uploaders/steam64/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-i386/Packages The
requested URL returned error: 403
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old
ones used instead.
The added sources looks like:
$ cat
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/private-ppa.launchpad.net_commercial-ppa-uploaders_steam64_ubuntu.list
