Public bug reported: I'm logged with gnome-shell, and often get gnome-mahjongg using high cpu resources on that system having 4 cores. Sometimes i need to kill the gnome-mahjongg process to get back a normal cpu/cores usage (even when gnome-mahjongg is loaded but not played).
This has already been reported by Debian: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=712815 on my system , running valgrind, i get: oem@oem-desktop:~$ valgrind gnome-mahjongg G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly ==8889== Memcheck, a memory error detector ==8889== Copyright (C) 2002-2012, and GNU GPL'd, by Julian Seward et al. ==8889== Using Valgrind-3.8.1 and LibVEX; rerun with -h for copyright info ==8889== Command: gnome-mahjongg G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly ==8889== ==8889== ==8889== HEAP SUMMARY: ==8889== in use at exit: 788,388 bytes in 15,481 blocks ==8889== total heap usage: 106,660 allocs, 91,179 frees, 3,855,258 bytes allocated ==8889== ==8889== LEAK SUMMARY: ==8889== definitely lost: 280 bytes in 14 blocks ==8889== indirectly lost: 45 bytes in 6 blocks ==8889== possibly lost: 16,936 bytes in 525 blocks ==8889== still reachable: 729,411 bytes in 14,434 blocks ==8889== suppressed: 0 bytes in 0 blocks ==8889== Rerun with --leak-check=full to see details of leaked memory ==8889== ==8889== For counts of detected and suppressed errors, rerun with: -v ==8889== ERROR SUMMARY: 0 errors from 0 contexts (suppressed: 0 from 0) oem@oem-desktop:~$ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: gnome-mahjongg 1:3.8.0-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-7.13-generic 3.11.0 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-7-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.12.1-0ubuntu4 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Sep 16 10:55:05 2013 MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: gnome-mahjongg UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-mahjongg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug gnome3-ppa i386 saucy third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-mahjongg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225919 Title: Memory leak Status in “gnome-mahjongg” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I'm logged with gnome-shell, and often get gnome-mahjongg using high cpu resources on that system having 4 cores.
