Hello,
I'm having a very strange problem here, my mic is working, I can use
Gnome-sound-recorder and RecordMyDesktop to record the ambient sound
or my voice, they work very well, and there is some mic control in
alsamixer, but there is no evidence that the microphone is being
recognized by Ubuntu in "gnome-control-center sound-nua" (i don't know
the app's name), there are no audio options to choose in the "input"
tab, the controls (level and mute) are all locked. I can't use mic
with Gtalk (in Empathy) and Skype, for them there is no microphone in
my laptop.
I run Ubuntu 12.04.1 live CD and the issues persists. With Ubuntu
10.04.4 there is no problem, neither with Ubuntu 12.10.
I installed pavumeter, and type: pavumeter --record, and I can see
that mic is working (levels are shaking).
My sound hardware:

Estou tendo um problema muito estranho, meu microfone está funcionando
corretamente, eu posso usar o Gnome-sound-record e RecordMyDesktop
para gravar o som ambiente ou minha voz, eles funcionam muito bem, e
há alguns controles disponíveis de microfone no alsamixer, mas não há
evidência que o microfone seja reconhecido pelo Ubuntu no "gnome-
control-center sound-nua" (eu não sei o nome desse aplicativo), não há
opções para escolher na aba "Entrada", os controles (níveis e mudo)
estão todos bloqueados. Eu não posso usar o microfone com o Gtalk (no
Empathy) e Skype, para eles não há microfone no meu laptop.
Eu rodei o live CD do Ubuntu 12.04.1, e o problema persiste. Com o
Ubuntu 10.04.4 não há problemas, nem com o Ubuntu 12.10.
Eu instalei o pavumeter, e digitei: pavumeter --record, e posso ver
que o microfone está funcionando (os níveis ficam se mexendo de um
lado para o outro conforme falo ao microfone).
