Title:
regression - Esc no longer stops animations
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Firefox used to stop animations (like animated GIFs) when the escape
key was pressed. This capability seems to be missing from recent
versions of Firefox. Please restore it.
Currently there are some partial work-arounds by editing
about:config's image.animation_mode which can have values of normal
(default), once, none. However, none of those provide the
functionality of being able to stop the animation on demand, whether
after a fraction of a second or after a few minutes.
What should happen is (barring changes to image.animation_mode) that
Firefox should show the animation but then stop it if and when Escape
is pressed.
