Expired ? A bit of a shameful move to expire this bug because the problem still exists (ubuntu 12.04 LTS) and will continue to exist until fixed or until end-of-life of 12.04 (i.e. 2017)

Since 9.10 it appears it can properly detect HDV video but seems to have no clue the recommendations it gave were enough to play it and complains every time you try to play a file.
