Starting rhythmbox with a large number of songs crashes every time

Open rhythmbox on fresh install (13.10)
Add multiple folders containing ~20k audio files
rhythmbox crashes
re-opening rhythmbox will also cause a crash about 10 seconds after opening
with no other activity taken.
