  Xorg server crashes during reboot when Modesetting is active on Radeon
  7790

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Since the upgrade to Kubuntu 13.10 Xorg crashes during startup unless
  I deactivate Modesetting support in grub. I am using the free radeon
  driver (not the proprietary one).

  The lspci output for the graphics card is:
