Ok I found it. To continue with Robert, open CompizConfig Settings manager if you have it or download it from the Ubuntu Software Center. In the Desktop category, click on Desktop Wall. Then under Bindings and Move with window within walls you with find the shortcuts to the workspace switcher. On the right hand side you will find a backspace icon on every setting, that is the reset value button. Click on the reset for Move up and Move down. That should fix it. Hoped it helped.
