Public bug reported: After rebooting my laptop, the lightdm login screen started, and in the middle of playing back the login screen ready sound, it suddenly stopped, dumping me to a text console with a flashing cursor.
It appears indicator-keyboard-service segfaulted, which caused lightdm to quit. I believe lightdm should handle indicator failures more gracefully then dumping the user to a flashing cursor without any indication of what to do, or how to recover without pressing the power button. Perhaps the login screen should survive without indicators, or it should attempt to start more than once? See attached *old files for my previous boot which failed in this manner.
