Just as Guinew says but I would add that it happens for both local and

Title:
  List view showing "loading" forever when folders have hidden files

Status in Nautilus:
  Confirmed
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

  Steps to recreate the bug:
  - open any nautilus window;
  - make sure you are viewing files as List View;
  - create a folder or go to an empty folder;
  - create one or more hidden files (your call) like ".fileA" inside this
folder;
  - go to this folder parent;
  - click on the arrow on the left of this folder name;
  - "loading" won't stop showing up.

  I hope I have made myself clear.

  I tested this on 10.04 and 10.10.
