Why is this still marked as incomplete? What is missing?

The same problem has been reported by several users on the Kubuntu
mailing list already, as well as on the KDE forums.

Title:
Pulseaudio doesn't have a default profile set in Saucy beta 2

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Using a Lenovo Laptop X220 with 13.10 beta2:

The soundcard is a built-in Intel one.

Problem: no sound after the upgrade from Raring to Saucy beta2.

A second screen is attached over HDMI, and the sound outputs to
"Internal Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI)" while the default "Internal
Audio Analog Stereo" is grayed out.

Solution: running systemsettings with kdesudo I found that there is no
default profile set in the Pulseaudio settings. Selecting any one
makes the default internal Audio output available again.
