I've got the same problem. Ubuntu Gnome 13.10, Gnome 3.10

My clock doesn't show seconds, none of the settings in Gnome Tweak Tool -> top 
bar help.
That is no fix for me!!

Disabling Calendars or going offline in Evolution doesn't help either.
