Title:
System freezes when using nouveau driver with Nvidia NVS 4200M
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I enabled the Nouveau driver in my Ubuntu 13.10 and started using my
laptop.
After I used it for few minutes (3-4 minutes) the system froze. Only the
mouse was working.
After about 1 minute the mouse cursor stopped responding as well, leaving me
with a 100% frozen laptop.
I couldn't even switch to a console (Alt + F1) and reboot gracefully. I had
to do an hard reboot.
The problem arises every time I start my pc, I can only use it for few
minutes. The mouse cursor is always the last to freeze.
The only way to use my laptop is to enable the Nvidia proprietary drivers.
