I'd also be glad if this bug gets fixed – it's now over 10 years (!) in the bug tracker. The appearance of the scrollbar even if it is not in use at all is an absolutely pointless waste of screen space, especially on wide screen and notebook monitors.
As a work-around you can at the moment use the Open Office fork Libre Office where this issue got fixed (maybe some of their code could be used to fix this in Open Office too). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to openoffice.org in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172803 Title: [Upstream] [hardy] OpenOffice.org Writer - Horizontal Scrollbar when Zoom is "Page Width" Status in The OpenOffice.org Suite: Unknown Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Binary package hint: openoffice.org OpenOffice.org Writer has Horizontal Scrollbar when Zoom is "Page Width" Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) OpenOffice.org 2.3 (openoffice.org-core 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5.3, Tue Nov 27 19:01:17 GMT 2007) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openoffice/+bug/172803/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
