Eclipse will not install due to dependency eclipse-platform

eclipse : Depends: eclipse-jdt (>= 3.8.1-4) but it is not going to be
installed
Depends: eclipse-pde (>= 3.8.1-4) but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
ok so I try to install the dependency:
(saucy)babak@localhost:~$ sudo apt-get install eclipse-jdt

ok so the output of output of 'dpkg --get-selections | grep hold'
returns no results.
