Title:
gnome-settings-daemon uses too much ram
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I was playing a game (via wine) while trying to delete my thrash, since my
disk space is getting low.
Also I used nemo for default file manager but I think It was not the problem.
After a couple of hours the ram usage rises near to its capacity. I have 2GBs
of ram. After I discovered it, terminating the process became really
difficult. The system being unresponsive, and logging in the VT shell was also
slower than molasses. Good thing I have a Terminal open and run htop which
states the gnome-settings-daemon uses about 29%+ and it continues to increase.
I ran "killall gnome-settings-daemon". It did not work for the first time then
I tried to enter it a multiple times. After some minutes it was terminated and
the process again restarts but with a very low ram usage.
