To replicate:
1: Use firefox to download a file of a type that automatically opens read-only
in gedit
2: From gedit, try to save the file to another location using "Save as..." from
the File menu.
Both "Save" and "Save as..." are greyed out, but the ideal behaviour is
to disable only "Save", leaving "Save as..." still enabled.
