Title:
Evolution hangs while performing IMAP functions
Status in The Evolution Mail & Calendaring Tool:
Expired
Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: evolution
Unfortunately, I don't have much more at this moment than an expansion
of the summary.
Frequently, daily, actually, Evolution will hang while accessing IMAP
mailboxes and the status message usually hangs at:
0% Filtering New Messages
It'll sit that way for hours if I allow it to (I let it sit overnight
once just to see), and if I try to exit (via the X window button) the
window dims and still hangs forever. I usually have to pkill -9
evolution to get rid of it and start over.
This behaviour ALSO seems to occur sometimes when it's trying to
access an IMAP contact list as well (I have it configured to use
Canonical's IMAP directory for e-mail completion.)
So the common theme is IMAP usage.
I currently have it configured to use two IMAP mail servers, one for
work and one that is privately hosted by me in a remote datacenter.
